I am currently in possession of a ginger beard, which I wear on my cheeks and chin, which is indeed the traditional method of wearing a beard. Some people are averse to beards. Some people are especially averse to ginger beards. A while back someone shouted out the window of a bus at me: "Hey! You with the ginger beard . . . " and then the bus passed and I couldn't hear the rest of what they said. I assumed that they were mocking my ginger beard, and this made me feel sad.
However, perhaps I was mistaken. Maybe they were complimenting my beard. Maybe they shouted: "Hey! You with the ginger beard . . . I really like your beard, and I'd like to get in touch with you because I am currently scouting for fine ginger beards to feature in a forthcoming Calvin Klein campaign and I think you and your beard would be perfect for the role."
Maybe. Actually, my beard is not even that ginger. It is sandy, with but a hint of red.
